Visit Arches National Park

Technically not in Colorado, but just over the western border is Arches National Park. Arches is a ‘wonderland of red rocks and blue sky.”

According to the National Parks websites, Arches has over 2,000 natural stone arches within park boundaries. Rock formations you can see include arches, towers, pinnacles, and balanced rocks. Most of these features can be seen from the car, but if you take a hike on one of the many trails, you can see more, including the famed ‘delicate arch.’ Dogs are allowed in Arches National Park but must be kept on lease and only in parking lots and trailhead areas, not on trails. Some dogs will enjoy a restricted trip more than others…It gets very hot, so you should avoid leaving your dog or any humans in the car at all costs. There are hotels and campgrounds in Moab and the surrounding areas, but you can also camp in the park.
